Team of the Week: Lets hear it for the 3 Ms 7-Aug-2006
From www.highlandleague.net :-
It says a lot for the level of the performances we witnessed at the weekend that we have three players who netted hat-tricks vying for the title of Player of the Week! Mark Smith, Michael Ewen and Martin Gunn all bagged three goals in the season opener but which of the 3M's came out on top?
Well there may be a clue in the fact that Wick striker Martin Gunn is featured in a special audio interview with Big Al included in this story which you can listen by clicking on the link at the bottom of the page, but then again it is not a very good clue as the answer to that is Michael Ewen. The former Rothes man was voted as the Man of the Match on his Vale debut, thus pipping Mark Smith and did just enough over the 90 minutes to edge out Martin Gunn who grabbed a second half hat-trick to take Wick to victory over Fort.
Naturally there is plenty more up for grabs with the Ref of the Week and full 1-11 plus subs to be named. So here are the lads who can claim the dressing room bragging rights this week in what is an attacking formation with three strikers in the starting line up and three more on the bench!
