The draw for the opening rounds of the
Tennents Scottish Qualifying Cups has
been made at Harlaw Park, Inverurie
this afternoon. This is the tournament
which gives non-league clubs in
Scotland the opportunity to win a place
in the Scottish Cup.
Making the draw for the Qualifying Cup
(North) competition which involves the
15 Scot-Ads Highland League clubs as
well as Golspie Sutherland were
Aberdeen FC director Willie Miller and
SFA Council member thingy Shaw, with a
strong representation of delegates from
the SFA present.
First Round Draw:
Forres Mechanics v Nairn County
Fort William v Buckie Thistle
Wick Academy v Inverurie Locos Works
Brora Rangers v Deveronvale
Rothes v Cove Rangers
Fraserburgh v Golspie Sutherland
Huntly v Clachnacuddin
Keith v Lossiemouth
Games to be played Saturday 26th August
2006
Second Round Draw:

The competition is the most lucrative
in HFL circles with the winner netting
in excess of £12,000 and of course all
four semi finalists qualify for the
Scottish Cup. Therefore this is a draw
that captures the imagination of all
Highland League fans, players and
committee men alike (as well as a few
bank managers).
