Wick Groats celebrate title with goal spree
By Iain Grant Published: 04 July, 2007
WICK Groats went on a goal frenzy to celebrate the end of their one-year exile from the top flight of the John O'Groat Journal County League.
After being presented with the second division trophy at Thurso's Ormlie pitch, they went on to rack up a 15-2 triumph over Top Joe's.
The under-strength home outfit had no answer to the firepower of the visitors, who scored at regular intervals.
Kyle Ross weighed in with a double hat-trick, with Andrew Cumming grabbing three and Kevin Miller and Stewart Ross two apiece. Mark Bremner and Gavin Sinclair also found the net, with TJ's crumbs of comfort coming from a Mark Hutcheon brace, one from the spot.
