Caithness players honoured in North Caley awards Published: 01 June, 2007
CAITHNESS players featured at the end-of-season presentation at the North Caledonian FA's annual dinner in Golspie at the weekend.
Halkirk United's Scott Manson was the young player of the year, while manager Ian MacDonald went up to collect the Fair Play award on behalf of the club.
Thurso striker Mark Nichol, meanwhile, received the trophy for the league's top goalscorer.
The player-of-the-year award went to Balintore midfielder James Skinner.
The silverware was handed over by the guest speaker, ex-Aberdeen and Scotland striker Joe Harper. Harper, a record scorer with the Dons, regaled his audience with tales from his colourful career, which included his infamous bust-up with Alex Ferguson which ended Harper's second stint at Pittodrie.
