Shadwell looking to keep up the pressure
THE Caithness Amateur Sevens Football League kicks off again after the festive break with matchday 17 in the second division tomorrow (Thursday).
The leaders, Sharks, will be looking to step up their promotion push when they meet fourth-placed Antarctic Thistle, top scorers in the division.
Second-placed Shadwell Town are just a point behind the leaders and they will be keen to keep up the pressure by taking all three points from their game against Dynamo TJ's.
The two Rolls-Royce teams face opposition from the north-east of the county - the Blues are up against John O'Groats, while the Reds take on bottom side Seaview, who are still searching for their first win. Halkirk and Ashes meet in the last game of the night.
There's an extended break for Top Joe's as it's their turn to have a free week.
Fixtures: Thursday, January 6 - Division two:
Antarctic Thistle v Sharks (6.30); Shadwell Town v Dynamo TJ's (6.30); John O'Groats v Rolls-Royce Blues (7.30); Seaview v Rolls-Royce Reds (7.30); Halkirk v Ashes (8.30).
Monday, January 10 - Division one - Young Guns v Lybster (7.00); Thurso Comm v Swifts (7.00); Naver v Castletown (8.00); Strokes v Pentland (8.00).
