Wick goals by Graeme Reid (2) and Gary Farquhar

Reid letter day as Wick claim 12th 13-May-2006
Wick Academy - Home
Wick Academy clinched 12th spot with a comeback victory at Claggan Park as the curtain fell on the Scot Ads Highland League season 2006-2007.
There was little to say about the first half with only a handful of saves for the keepers to make and most of them routine in the extreme with long balls through giving the custodians little to worry about.
Forts best chance saw a ball in from the right being headed past James More's left hand post by Ross Mackay, while the Scorries young striker Gary Weir drilled a shot into the side netting at the other end.
However there were plenty of goals in the second half to make up for the drought in the first. Fort posted notice of their intentions when Ross Mackay had a shot parried by James More before trialist Charles Fonneban drove wide. However the trialist number 9 was to soon find his mark.
In the 52nd minute Fonneban collected a pass just at the edge of the box and took a couple of touches before neatly lifting it over the head of More to give Fort the lead. It turned out to be the worst thing Fort did all day as it sparked Wick into life.
The equaliser was one to forget for Fort, a ball up the left saw Ross Mackay and Mark McRitchie get into a fankle and the result was a simple goal for Graeme Reid, who sidefooted the ball into the empty net from 10 yards out.
Minutes later Gary Farquhar jinked his way into the box before stroking the ball into the bottom corner to give Wick the lead and just as that goal was being phoned in to www.highlandleague.net another flew in.
Graeme Reid grabbed his second and Wick's third when he fired home from 22 yards with the shot coming out of nothing as a melee was developing on the edge of the box.
Fort William went close to pulling one back in the 72nd minute when the ever lively Mark Sanderson hit an effort that just skimmed the outside of the Wick keepers left hand post. Danny Mackintosh's cross was then headed goalwards by sub Darren Quig but James More made the save and the Scorries rode the game out to move above Lossiemouth.
