It was an important day in The MSIS North Caledonian League championship as the top four locked horns, with first and second playing and third and fourth also. At the top Alness United maintained their place in first with a 3-1 win at home to reigning champions Golspie Sutherland and in the other game Thurso climbed to second in the table with a hard fought 2-0 win away against Balintore at Seaboard Park with goals from Jamie MacKenzie, continuing his recent scoring burst, plus another from the league's top scorer Mark Nicholl taking his total to 32 so far this season. There were other movements in the table as Dornoch won 6-0 away in Tain and climbed above Invergordon into seventh place, also Halkirk United and Bonar Bridge moved level on points with Balintore, as Halkirk beat Bunillidh Thistle 3-0 at home and Bonar Bridge winning 2-1 away at Invergordon.
